Outdoor Stalls

Construcción

LUPA sells and installs outdoor stables from three European suppliers with different building concepts, according to customers’ likings and needs.

In order to better understand the building differences, we may say that these mainly affect four aspects: the design possibilities, the necessary supporting infrastructure, their ease of installation and their insulating ability.

GEERT + HENK OUTDOOR STALLS

Boxes exteriores Geert Henk StandardG + H outdoor stalls can be defined in two words: functional and resistant. They are prefab stables that are easy and fast to install. Their outside and inside walls are made of solid galvanized steel frames that support recycled plastic boards or tropical hardwood. The roof can be insulated or not, depending on the climate.

We offer two models of G + H outdoor stalls: STANDARD and TEXAS. Both models present the same building features (described below) with one important difference: the width of the front eaves: 1.20 m for the Standard model and 2.40 m for the Texas model, with support pillars.

Both models allow for the construction of stables with a wide range of design possibilities (back-to-back, in line, in an L or U shape, forming closed courtyards…), with stalls of several sizes (the most common are 3 x 3 m, 3.5 x 3.5 m and 4 x 4 m), as well as garages, straw lofts, classrooms, tack rooms and offices as supplementary elements.

The only requirement for their installation is a concrete floor, to which the stalls will be fixed by means of the appropriate lag screws, anchor plugs and screw dowels, which are supplied with the stalls.

CORTON OUTDOOR STALLS

Corton builds outdoor stalls with the same trustworthy quality of their indoor partitions for barns. Basically, there are two stall models, identified by their roof pitch: STANDARD stalls, with single pitched roofs, and CLASSIC stalls with dual pitched or gable roofs, though we also offer different sizes and options to customize both models.

CORTON outdoor stalls are built with galvanized steel framed panels and 28-mm-thick tongue and groove boards of recycled plastic with anti-expansion profiles every 3 boards, or tropical hardwood. The roof is made of green lacquered metal plate, with or without insulation. The standard model two-part doors (220 x 110 cm) consist of 28-mm-thick tongue and groove boards or a plexiglass sheet with a protection grille, four adjustable hinges, double parallel lock on the lower part and a bolt on the top part.

The most common stall sizes are: 3 x 3 m and 3.5 x 3.5 m, approximately. The only requirement for their installation is a concrete floor.

SCOTTS OUTDOOR STALLS

If you want to build your stables according to a specific design, with particular layouts or elements that make them different, distinctive and stunning, then your stalls must be SCOTTS.

SCOTTS is the most important and renowned manufacturer in Great Britain (founded in 1920) and we have been working with them since 1986. We have installed their loose boxes in different areas of Spain with great success, despite the diverse climatic conditions.

SCOTTS loose boxes boast a very high quality and have been carefully designed. The manufacturing and treatment of their hardwood structure is done in accordance with norm 5268, Sections 2 and 5, of the British Standard Code of Practice and Resistance of Materials. The waterproof roofing is achieved with Ruberoid GP120 sheets, approved by the BBA with number 86/1616 and similar to roofing felt.

The resistance of the materials used, the thickness of the walls, the insulating possibilities, the making of doors and windows, the protections, the floor fixing system by means of chemical bolts, the existence of countless finishing details such as mouldings, ventilation systems, magnets to hold doors, gutters, drainpipes... make Scotts stand out from their competitors.

On the outside wall we install a panel of treated overlapping tongue and groove boards of our own design, fixed on a 5-cm-thick frame. The treatment applied provides a long-lasting, maintenance-free protection. Nevertheless, in such a changing climate as the Spanish continental one, applying an external protection coating (Lasur or paint; never varnish) from time to time (2-3 years) undoubtedly helps preserve the timber and maintain a better appearance.

Puerta y vista de boxes exteriores ScottsOn the inside, in contact with the horse and fixed onto a reinforced frame to increase its shock resistance, we install a high density, hydrofugous panel. It is 19 mm thick, very polished and resistant, so horses cannot easily “bite into it”.

The doors are 6 cm thick and are divided in two. The frame and the lower part are protected internally and externally by a galvanized plate. The windows are like perspex blinds and have bars on the inside.

We can install two types of roofing: as a single sheet or imitating slates, depending on the customer’s wishes.

Scott stalls allow us to build stables in a variety of forms and sizes (3 x 3.6 m and 3.6 x 3.6 m are the most common stall sizes). Many different layouts are possible (back-to-back, in a line, forming an L, or a U, arranged in courtyards, with archways at the entrance...), with an infinite number of supplementary elements, such as garages, hay lofts, classrooms, tack rooms and offices.

Installation requirements: a concrete floor with rows of two bricks, a bit more complicated to prepare than in other cases. The stalls will be fixed to the floor and bricks by means of chemical bolts that are supplied with the panels.
